October 26: Lecture by Vandana Shiva, physicist, environmental activist, ecofeminist, author and leader of the International Forum on Globalization, 6-7 p.m., Shafer Auditorium
November 3: Opening Reception and Artist's Talks for "Engineering Eden". 7 - 9 p.m. Bowman, Penelec and Megahan Galleries. National and regional artists explore our human relationships to the world's environments. The exhibit will be on view in the galleries from November 3 through December 1, 2009.
January 26: Opening Reception and Artist's Talks for "In Between". 7 - 9 p.m. Bowman, Penelec and Megahan Galleries. International and emerging artists visually deconstruct oversimplified notions of ethnicity, gender and sexuality. The exhibit will be on view in the galleries from January 26 - February 16, 2010.
February 23: Opening Reception and Artist's Talks for "The Art of Persuasion". 7 - 9 p.m. Bowman, Penelec and Megahan Galleries. Historic and contemporary political posters demonstrate the role of visual culture as a tool to influence public opinion on critical political issues. The exhibit will be on view in the galleries from February 23 - March 16, 2010.
February 25: Lecture by Michael Pollan, author, columnist, activist and professor of journalism and director of the Knight Program in Science and Environmental Journalism at UC Berkeley, 6-7 p.m., Ford Chapel
