Although Allegheny College's primary responsibility to to promote students' intellectual, moral and social development, the College is deeply rooted in the regional community and is committed to be an active community partner. Allegheny's diverse, highly qualified faculty and staff and its gifted, engaged students are a rich resource for local leaders seeking information for community projects.

Allegheny College faculty, staff and students are encouraged to be actively involved beyond the campus community and to seek and respond positively to requests for engagement.

The goal of Community-Based Research at Allegheny College is to bring research needs of the community to the campus and to utilize the human resources of the College in meeting those needs.
